FBI agent Alexis Toles is dispatched to New Rochelle, New York, to investigate threatening letters sent to Congressman Christopher O’Brien, and to protect his ex-wife Cassidy and six-year-old son, Dylan. But when she gets to New Rochelle, Alex discovers that there is more to the situation than simple stalking or political agendas; she finds that she has growing romantic feelings for Cassidy—and that the feelings are mutual.

As Alex and Cassidy explore their budding romance, they must surmount many obstacles in explaining their relationship to those around them, including Dylan. All the while, the investigation continues, and the disturbing, convoluted, and complicated web surrounding the threats begins to unravel, placing the characters’ lives in grave danger.

Intersection is a taut political thriller that combines the action and suspense found in hit television shows like 24. Kirkus Reviews says, “The complex depictions of both Toles’ and Cassidy’s sexualities and personalities are refreshing.”
This second edition of Intersection includes bonus material from the second novel in the Alex and Cassidy Series, Betrayal.

Intersection Alex and Cassidy Book 1 edition by Nancy Ann Healy Literature Fiction eBooks

Oh my, at least 3/4 of the novel was dedicated to Alex and Cassidy declaring their undying love for each other. It felt needy and actually bordered on some unique form of mental illness, it surpassed the normal co-dependent relationship markers and skyrocketed into another dimension of lesbian merging psychosis.
I found myself flipping through the many pages of insane making "I love you's, no I love you mores"
I would outwardly groan, when the story, incessantly, relentlessly, maddeningly swerved into another pot hole of sickening over emoting dialogue ... I never hated on Cassidy and Alex, as I still found them to be interesting and likeable protagonists.. I just feel the author really needs to start seeing a psychologist, actually, no, a psychiatrist.. and get some medication
That said, I like the sub plot, a tale that is actually intriguing... and I've bought the next book... and a barf bag, as I just know there is going to be more overt displays of madness in the monotonous I love yous that take up YOO MUCH of the dialogue
We get it...
3 1/2 stars, it would have been 4, however, seriously!!

Intersection Alex and Cassidy Book 1 edition by Nancy Ann Healy Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

When I saw that this was part of a 5 book series, I got excited thinking that this would be a good book to read because it should have some substance. I was wrong, not even a quarter of the way into the book and the two main characters were already professing their love. This book was very unrealistic, and while it had some good sections - it was way too drawn out and the fact that every other sentence out of their mouth was an "I love you." The affection was just too much, one week and they only thing they can't go more than two sentences without saying "I love you."
The only reason I gave it a 2 star rating instead of a 1 star is because I don't hate the book - I just wouldn't invest any money in these books, even at a $3 price.
I never read reviews before I read a book and mostly I write them for the author. I really enjoyed the story in this one. It wasn't cliche of they meet, there is an obstacle trying to prevent them from falling in love, and they finally defeat said obstacle, are in love, the end. Going back and looking at the reviews now, I actually enjoyed the fact that they fell in love so quickly. Hey! This is fiction!

I really enjoyed the story line and plot because it was not easy to see the outcome. I wouldn't say it's 'edge of your seat' suspense, but it certainly kept me guessing as to who were the good guys and who were the bad. At the end, I'm still not sure I really know.

If I had any problem with the book, it was the same as one reviewer commented, about having a major issue figuring out who was speaking. The author definitely needs a better editor or beta readers. New paragraphs needed. Misspells I've learned to tolerate in today's market, as long as they are not excessive. I think this fell within my guidelines.

All in all, I was very captivated by the story and am very glad the sequel is out already. I just purchased and will be start reading it tonight.
I liked this story quite a bit. The intrigue kept me wanting more. I did not, however, enjoy the "I love yous" every other sentence it seemed.

The story of power and betrayal kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put down the book, except when Alex & Cassie started spouting gooey "I love yous" for pages on end.

I've purchased the other books as well and I can't wait to read them. The story is written so well. I try not to read reviews until after I'm finished reading a book myself, so I hope the declarations of affection are a bit more muted in the other books.

I am looking forward to reading them.
The political intrigue and suspense kept me reading this book even though there was problems with the flow at times. I did enjoy the romance of Alex and Cassidy plus Dylan comes across as a real kid. However, I realize it does happen upon occassion but the meeting to be in love in three days and forming a family was unbelievable to me. Ms. Healy would have also benefited with a good editor to help tighten the story and do away with the redundant dialogue. Also maintaining the character's point of view throughout a scene was lacking. The headhopping became quite confusing at times. I also found it disquieting to come to the end of the book and realize that the unfinished plot lines whould be carried on into Book 2 and now Book 3. There were also formatting issues. I read this on my kindle and my phone and the issues were present in both readers. I will be reading book 2 though as the political intrigue has me guessing. Format
This book put me in the mind of the character Alex Cross that James Patterson has created. How refreshing to read a book in this genre that's not just a sappy romance. I loved how this was a suspenseful story about politics and the alliances and games played in D.C. So why is it only 4 stars and not 5?

SPOILERS AHEAD

I understand how two people can be drawn to each other. I understand the connection that makes people throw caution to the wind. I understand that sometimes fate brings people together.

What I didn't understand was how two people fell in love in three days! The fact that they were drawn and attracted to one another - great. The fact that they wanted to explore the strange feelings - great. The fact that they called it a soul searing love after 3 days - not so great. It actually took me a while to adjust to the fact that these two virtual strangers were now proclaiming their undying love so soon. It was a major turn off!! Even though the author kept saying the characters were astonished that they had those feelings, it still felt wrong to me. I eventually had to learn to roll with it, because it would have ruined an otherwise, very riveting story.

But now that I've adjusted, I'm looking forward to part two!!!
